With even more restrictions than usual due to Covid-19, water resource professionals have had a complicated year trying to acquire and share data. A core benefit of the High Definition Stream Survey is being able to see what is going on in the field without actually having to take the time and incur the costs to visit it.
Regardless of where you are right now, you can follow this link and see the exact conditions of the Harpeth River in Tennessee from our survey completed on March 7, 2016. You can see the condition of the riverbanks, type of stream habitat, and even the substrate type from the side scan sonar imagery. The stream video is combined with depth data and GPS coordinates resulting in a powerful tool to address numerous water resource issues. Adding to the versatility of HDSS, it doesn’t matter whether the video was recorded yesterday or years ago, the viewer can see the conditions of the entire stream segment as if they were there!
Despite the crazy year that 2020 has been, Trutta has been able to remain open and working as usual and can do so while following social distancing protocols.
