During the physical exam, Dr. Beverly checks your general appearance, your lungs, heart, and vitals. During this part of your exam, Dr. Beverly takes time to determine the status of your overall health. This is also a great opportunity for you to mention any concerns or changes you have regarding your health.
With a pelvic exam, Dr. Beverly examines the health of your cervix, vagina, vulva, uterus, and ovaries. You might also have an STD (sexually transmitted disease) test during your pelvic exam. This part of your women’s health exam allows Dr. Beverly to detect any concerns or issues with your reproductive or sexual health.
A Pap smear is routinely performed during your pelvic exam. Pap smears are an effective testing method to check for signs of cervical cancer.
